APSC(Assam Public Service Examination) is a constitutional state commission that mainly conducts the Assam State Civil Service Examination for the recruitment of state civil servants. Like UPSC, APSC also follows the same pattern of examination syllabus, viz- Prelims, Mains followed by the final interview which is actually a Personality Test.

Before discussing the methods to crack the APSC exam, an aspirant should know the selection process of APSC Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE) which consists of three main parts:

• The Preliminary Examination: Written-test of 400 marks
• The Main Examination: Written Test of 2000 marks appx. (depends on language papers)
• Interview Test: Personality test of 275 marks.

Please note, CSAT of Prelims is qualifying in nature (33% must). Similarly, two language papers in Mains are also of qualifying nature. Now comes the next part, the syllabus. Generally, class VI to XII NCERT study materials are the ideal start for APSC preparation but you too need some standard books for GS (General Studies) paper. This year onwards the commission has also included a new Assam paper (history, geography, the political history of Assam) GS V. 30-35% of questions in GS paper 1 will be related to Assam. For the detailed list of study materials for your APSC preparation 2021 check this link.
